ARTISAN EXPO: UPDATE
Warm greetings to all of our loyal Artisan Expo participants!! We sincerely hope that everyone is safe and sound after the last year of major changes that have occurred worldwide.
Since we’re now hearing back from a lot of you concerning the status of Expo, we wanted to update everyone on our plans for resuming the Expo in the safest way possible.
We have taken a number of things into consideration, in the planning for the next Expo. Here are the various factors:
- First, the pandemic has changed the way business is being done across all kinds of areas, and especially for the art, learning & travel sectors.
- 2021: It is too soon to have Expo in 2021, as it takes years to organize.
- 2022: The International Association of Pastel Societies (IAPS) show — a sort of mini-expo for pastel artists, held in Albuquerque — is already scheduled for 2022. A lot of the same material vendors that we have at our Expo have already committed to the IAPS show, and it would be impossible for enough of them to financially commit to another art show in the same year. Artisan runs the vendor floor for this event.
- 2023: It would also be too soon to have a full-size Expo in 2023, as many vendors are still recovering economically from the pandemic, and Artisan needs more time to plan everything.
- 2024 is already taken for another IAPS show, and the same reasons apply.
- 2025 is the first viable year to have enough time to prepare properly — and to give vendors time to participate fully — in order to give our you the best experience that you’ve come to expect from Artisan.
We hope everyone understands our timing, and would again come to Santa Fe in 2025 to learn and practice art, meet a lot of other artists, and have a great time in one of the beautiful spots on this planet!!
