Make it a day of painting. Collect your supplies and take them out into the local environs. In the morning, Barry will demonstrate in the studio the elements and principles when painting with a ground color, including composition and other aspects of design for plein air painting. After a demonstration the class will have an opportunity to get to work and put brush to canvas from the vistas around Buffalo Thunder, where the land and sky are New Mexico fine! Let Stephanie show you how to paint delicate flowers and beautiful leaves. Working from live flowers, you will learn to simplify the shapes and values that make your images come right off the page. Bring your own flowers if there is something in particular you wish to paint. We will work with pastel in the morning and then explore painting in oil in the afternoon. A great opportunity to try a new medium!
